Synchronicity

Aligning with the flow of the universe, rather than insisting the universe flow our way…

What We Do

Oakley Canine Athletics is a functional fitness company focused on the overall health & conditioning of canine athletes.

We are dedicated to teaching ALL levels of dog agility; in conjunction with personalized canine fitness training, to help properly develop canine athletes to reach untapped levels of potential through both fitness & sport.

Our mission: to transform dog agility teams by optimizing the strength, proprioception, balance, & cardiovascular health of each individual canine athlete.

We are locally based out of Saint Matthews, South Carolina; in-person agility coaching takes place outdoors, on our 150’ x 85’ all-weather artificial turf field. Our field is filled with over 40 tons of pure silica sand for the best surface traction & safety of our canine athletes.

Virtually, we currently work with students all across the globe through mobile and online platforms; providing one-to-one agility & canine fitness coaching, virtual seminars, & online self-study courses as well.

Meet Your Trainer
Laurren Bastian, CCAS CSCC

Certified Canine Athlete SpecialisT

certified Canine Strength & Conditioning coach

Most widely known for being a multi-time dog agility national finalist and champion across multiple organizations of the sport, she is also certified as a canine fitness trainer through two university programs.

Laurren currently shares her life with five amazing dogs: Dublin, Savage, Denali, Maestro & Bantr!

She is a ‘Handling 360’ graduated handler and alumni that has contributed globally recognized material to both the ‘Handling 360’ and ‘Agility Nation’ online handling programs ran by Susan Garrett. Most of her current training philosophy has a strong verbal cue base due to this, but she has also worked with multiple European-based agility coaches in her learning experience; which gives her a firm understanding of body positioning and motion cues as well.
She only uses positive reinforcement for training all of her dogs, as she feels it is especially critical during agility training.

The Dog Who Inspired a Dream

The company’s namesake was sparked by the loss of Oakley, a blue merle border collie who tragically lost his life to Blastomycosis at a young age.
Oakley ignited a fire in Laurren to become the handler her dogs needed, leading her to the ‘Handling 360’ program & learning with the top international trainers.

Oakley’s memory lives each day through Laurren’s work and the achievements and successes of her students.
